Vectran™ is spun from the molten liquid polymer Vectra and further processed into a multi-fiber yarn. Both spider silk and Vectran™ have enormous tensile strength at the lowest possible weight. Exactly the right properties to be processed in a Continental top tire as a puncture protection insert. A Vectran™ breaker is lighter, more flexible and protects more effectively against cuts than comparable nylon breakers. The Vectran™ Breaker does not affect the rolling resistance.
