Rapid Fire Plus
Rapidfire Plus has been used by mountain bikers since 1985. Rapidfire Plus is still the first choice of various rider groups, from cross-country racers to freeriders and downhillers. Rapidfire Plus is suitable for fast shifting. Riders can downshift up to three gears in one shift stroke. All new Rapidfire Plus shifters, from XTR to Deore LX, are equipped with 2-Way Release. This means that shift cable is released by pulling with the index finger or pushing with the thumb.
2 Way Release
The release lever of a Rapidfire Plus shifter is pulled towards the grip like the trigger of a pistol. The release lever of the new Rapidfire Plus shifters from Alivio to XTR can be operated in the same way. However, it can also be used to shift by thumb pressure.
I-Spec-II
The SLX M7000 levers are compatible with the I-Spec II system, which allows shift and brake levers to be mounted on the handlebar with just one clamp, allowing more freedom in cockpit design, saving weight and improving ergonomics through a wide range of adjustment options. I-Spec II shifters are not compatible with I-Spec and not with I-Spec B brake levers.
