Shimano crank XTR FC-M9120-1 170 mm

The XTR Enduro FC-M9120 is one of the first Shimano cranks with direct mount. More stiffness, less weight and increased usability are the main advantages of this system. The 12-speed compatible crank has a Q-factor of 168 mm. As FC-M9120-1, it can be equipped with only one chainring (not included), which saves even more weight, which benefits the performance in enduro races. However, it is entirely possible to install two chainrings, resulting in the FC-M9120-B2, which would also be available separately as a complete crankset. The version with only one chainring can be ridden in frames with 142 mm and with 148 mm installation width thanks to 52 mm chainline. FC-M9120, of course, features the Hollowtech II design that has been tried and tested for years, creating an optimal balance between the strength of the crank arms, the stiffness of the axle and the weight.

What matters is the overall balance of the crankset. In terms of the entire crankset, an optimal balance between the strength of the crank arms, the stiffness of the axle, the bearing position and other features is very important. When designing the crankset, the overall balance of all individual elements was carefully considered to ensure maximum stability.
Outer Bearing: On most 68mm bottom bracket shells, the Hollowtech II with 24mm axle can be installed so that the bearing sits outside the frame for better weight distribution and increased stability.
High-quality precision seals: The Hollowtech II crankset also features high quality precision seals in the bearing area to extend durability and maintain excellent rotational efficiency over the long term.
The 24mm diameter axle and bearings ensure optimal balance of the crankset and transmission of drive power to the bike.
