The Shimano Ultegra FC-R8000 11-speed chainring contributes to a smooth and fast shifting process together with the other drive components. It has an asymmetric hole pattern, a bolt circle diameter of 110 mm and is made of aluminium or an aluminium-carbon composite. The large chainrings (except 46 Z) are hollow-formed (Hollowglide technology) to save weight.

Note on type designations:
The type designations (with one or two letters) give an indication of the combinability of the chainrings with each other. Since the large chainrings have specially shaped teeth and climbing aids that make it easier for the chain to climb, full shifting performance is only guaranteed with small chainrings that are matched to them - and vice versa. A chainring of type XY should therefore only be used with a chainring of type XY. The same applies to all other types.
